Hi Konstantin Demblin

I didn’t say that nested symbols do not work, I said the drawback we experienced as a team was the poor discoverability of the nested symbols within the master symbol.

Our situation is one where as a team, we produce quick high-fidelity mocks so information density must be high. It benefits us seeing a well grouped, large extensive symbol list from the symbol menu.

I’ve had a lot of responses saying “symbols are easy” and nesting symbols is what everyone should be doing. The beauty of Sketch is that it offers a flexible approach therefore there is no right or wrong application. An application that works for one team may not work for another and vice-versa. This however, is an idication of great software, not an indicator for incorrect use of the software.
